Privacy Policy - Scored

Scored is a board game session tracker: you record who played what, who won, and the app keeps your statistics and ELO ratings over time. This policy explains what we store to do that, and who else is involved.

1. Information We Collect

• Account details: your email address, and the display name and username you choose. You sign in with email, Google or Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple with private relay, we only ever see the relay address.
• Your display name is public. We do not use your email address as your display name, and we do not show your email address to other users.
• Game data you enter: your board game collection, game sessions, scores, placements, ELO ratings, achievements, and the players (registered friends or guests) you record as taking part.
• Social connections: your friends, friend requests, connect codes, and whether you have chosen to share your collection with someone.
• Technical data: device and app version, crash reports, and usage events (which screens are opened, which features are used).
• Optional: a profile photo, and your BoardGameGeek username if you choose to import a collection.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Running the app: storing your sessions, collection and statistics and syncing them across your devices
• Calculating ELO ratings, records and achievements
• Letting the people you connect with see the shared parts of your profile and, if you enable it, your collection
• Sending notifications you have opted into
• Diagnosing crashes and understanding which features are used, so we can improve the app
• Showing advertisements

3. What Other People Can See

• Visible to your friends: your display name, username, profile photo, ELO and game statistics, shared session history, achievements, and head-to-head records with them.
• Visible in search: your display name, username and profile photo, so people can find you to connect. Never your email address.
• Collection sharing is off by default and applies per person. It is intended for a partner or housemate who shares a shelf with you; when enabled, that person sees your games in their own collection.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-Party Services

Scored relies on the following providers, each of which processes some of your data on our behalf:

• Supabase — our database, authentication and backend hosting. This is where your account, sessions, collection and statistics are stored. Privacy policy.
• Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting (Crashlytics) and push notifications (Cloud Messaging). Privacy policy.
• PostHog — product analytics. This may include session replay, which records how you interact with the app's screens in order to diagnose usability problems. Privacy policy.
• Google AdMob — advertising. How Google uses data.
• BoardGameGeek — if you import a collection, we send your BGG username to BoardGameGeek to fetch it. Game metadata comes from their API. Privacy policy.

5. Data Security

• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored by Supabase
• Row-level security rules restrict each account to its own data, plus whatever has explicitly been shared with it
• No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction: you can view and edit your profile, collection and sessions in the app at any time
• Deletion: you can delete your account and its data. Request account deletion here
• Notifications: you can turn push notifications off in the app or in your device settings
• Advertising: you can limit personalised ads through your device's privacy settings
• Data portability: you can request a copy of your data by contacting us

7. Guest Players

You can record a session with someone who does not have an account by adding them as a guest, which stores the name you type. If that person later joins Scored, they can claim that guest record and take ownership of the results. Please only add names you are entitled to add.

8. Children's Privacy

Scored is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. International Users

Scored is available globally and your data may be processed outside your country of residence by the providers listed above. By using the app you consent to that processing.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be reflected here along with a new "Last updated" date.
